The Eustis Center for Health Professions provides a new home for the School of Health Professions, unifying all of the health sciences disciplines into a single integrated facility. Designed to promote collaboration and interprofessional interaction, the building accommodates the School’s Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Imaging, Radiation Therapy, Emergency Medical Technology, Physician Assistant, Massage Therapy, and Medical Laboratory Testing programs.

Specialized spaces in the building include teaching labs; a large simulation suite; debriefing rooms; a high-tech Academic Conference Center with adaptable layouts for team-based learning; flexible classrooms of all sizes; and a dedicated student resource suite, including small-group study rooms, collaboration areas, and computer access areas. Also included is a 140-seat testing center with sections for adaptability, including eight reduced-distraction testing rooms for special needs students.

The four-story, brick structure fits well within the context of the surrounding campus. With energy use intensity for the LEED Silver-certified building predicted at 62kBtu/sf/yr, the building is 70% carbon neutral relative to the national average of similar building types.

The building is named in honor of the late Carol D. Eustis, whose 46-year career at CCBC Essex included 12 years as Dean of the School of Health Professions.
